The Brazilian Vitor belfort gained more motivation to beat the English Michael Bisping in the main fight of UFC Sao Paulo. This is because the opportunity to fight for the middleweight belt in case of victory, already guaranteed to Bisping, could also be granted to Belfort, according to Marshall Zelaznik – UFC's director of international development. During the event press conference, the director stated that “things change very quickly in the UFC” and that he would not rule out Vitor as a challenger for the middleweight belt in case of a good victory for the Brazilian.
Zelaznik also highlighted that Belfort himself could make some moves to get a rematch against Anderson Silva. “Vitor is a guy who positions himself in a dominant way. He's going to make a very strong plan to convince Joe [Silva, UFC fight matchmaker] and Dana to give him a rematch”, he concluded.
