The bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg) entered the final stretch for his first title defense. The opponent will be aljamain sterling, UFC 259, which takes place on March 6th. In preparation for the fight, the Russian states that he is ready for any strategy from the North American and wants to keep the belt for a long time.

The current champion also compared aljamain sterling com José Aldo, who was his last opponent. At the UFC 251, Petr knocked out the Brazilian in the fifth round and won the category belt.
“Aldo is one of the toughest fighters in MMA. He throws a strong punch, has resistance and is a very strong fighter. Sterling, on the other hand, doesn't know what he expects when he fights me. Is he hoping to work his jiu-jitsu on me? I don't understand. I work and train with black belts so it’s not a problem for me,” he concluded.
At 27, Petr yan He has been a professional in MMA since 2013. The Russian currently has a record of 15 wins and one loss. He experiences a sequence of ten setbacks in a row.
