After confirming the superfight against the YouTuber Jake Paul, Ben Askren has already started the promotion for the official clash on April 17th. The former UFC fighter's last move was to practice boxing with a punching bag printed with the digital influencer's face. The veteran released the images on his social networks.

In the images (see below), Ben – awkwardly – appears striking the new equipment. At 36 years old, the athlete will return to active duty after more than a year of inactivity.

Former Bellator and ONE Championship champion, Askren became known in MMA as a great wrestler. Without much intimacy in his striking, the athlete accepted the challenge of facing Jake, who has shown himself dedicated to making a career in the 'noble art'.

Signed by the UFC as a promising welterweight (up to 77kg), Ben was not missed in the organization led by Dana White. In three engagements, just one victory and the weight of having been marked as the man who suffered the quickest knockout in the company's history, in 2019, when he was brutalized by Jorge masvidal in 5 seconds.

After being beaten by Demian Maia, in October 2019, Askren announced his retirement from mixed martial arts, at the age of 35. Out of action, the athlete underwent delicate hip surgery, which would make it difficult to compete at a high level.

With a million-dollar invitation from Paul, Ben decided to come out of retirement to try to curb the 'hype' about the YouTuber, who is coming off a big victory over former NBA player, Nate Robinson, in November. On the occasion, the influencer was one of the highlights in the show starring Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.
