Responsible for welcoming Michael chandler in Ultimate, Dan Hooker remains shaken by the negative result against the debutant, in UFC 257. In an interview with 'Submission Radio', the New Zealander did not hide his disappointment with his performance, which temporarily ruled him out of a fight for the lightweight belt (under 70,3kg). Knocked out in the first round, the athlete spoke about the case.

“A week has passed and what can you say? You have good days and bad days. You prepare for the worst-case scenarios, but I was still surprised. I was surprised at how bad it was. I have no words to describe. It feels like I wasted four months of my life for that”, said the athlete.
Shortly after the setback to Chandler, Hooker, still in the octagon, removed his gloves like athletes ready to leave the sport. The New Zealander's action was commented on, but, to eliminate any doubts, Dan spoke about the situation.
“You always get frustrated after a defeat. It was a balance of everything. You get disappointed and, in a moment like that… 'I'm fed up. I'm fed up with this shitty sport.' Then you go back to the hotel and realize that you're not good at anything else. So, I found myself at a crossroads (laughs)”, explained the athlete.
At 30 years old, Hooker has 30 appearances as a professional in MMA. Current number eight in the ranking, the athlete has 20 triumphs and 10 defeats in the sport.
