Last Strikeforce middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold He's already counting down the days until his UFC debut. The American's debut does not yet have an official date, but the fighter himself has already shown interest from those who want to face him in his “new home”. In an interview with the website MMAFighting, Rockhold asked for a duel against Cypriot Costa Philippou.
“I think Costa Philippou is the name that makes the most sense right now. He is coming off a victory and I consider him a good opponent. Let’s do it (at UFC on FOX 7)”, said the Californian fighter.
Luke Rockhold has a record of ten wins and just one loss in professional MMA. In Strikeforce, Rockhold remained undefeated, having won all eight fights he had in the organization. The North American won the event's middleweight belt by beating the Brazilian in 2011 Ronaldo Jacare in the unanimous decision of the judges.
UFC on FOX 7 is scheduled to take place on April 20th and already has two other fighters from Strikeforce on its card: the heavyweight Daniel Cormier and Gilbert Melendez, the last lightweight champion of the Californian organization. Cormier faces Frank mir, while Gilbert Melendez competes with Ben henderson the Ultimate lightweight category belt.
