Ultimate's big bet for the future, Khamzat Shimaev surprised when talking about his opponent on March 13th. Next rival of Leon edwards, the Swede admitted to never having watched his opponent's full fight. In an interview with 'Frontkick Online', the combatant sparked the controversy.

“I never saw Edwards fight. I only saw the best moments of (Kamaru) Usman defeating him. (…) If Usman won like that, I will demolish him. He doesn't have knockout power or anything special. I will dominate both: him and Usman. Soon,” Khamzat said.

The fight with Edwards will mark Chimaev's opportunity to reach the top 5 in the welterweight division (under 77kg). With just three appearances with UFC gloves, the Swede impressed with his imposing triumphs, beating all his opponents indisputably.

The commitment against Leon will mark the biggest challenge of Khamzat's career to date. At 26 years old, the fighter will make his 10th appearance as a professional in MMA. So far, Chimaev doesn't know what it's like to lose in his career.

While the Swede will make his fourth appearance in just eight months in Ultimate, Edwards will return to the octagon after more than a year of inactivity. The Englishman's last fight took place in July 2019, when he overcame Rafael dos Anjos.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
