After managing to confirm the confrontation against ex-UFC, Ben Askren, for April 17th, the youtuber Jake Paul has already started promoting the match. Coming off a great victory over former NBA player Nate Robinson, the influencer predicts a new knockout and guarantees to beat a historic mark achieved by Jorge masvidal within Ultimate: a knockout in less than 5 seconds.

“I started boxing two years ago and I'm still going to knock out (Bem) Askren faster than (Jorge) Masvidal. He has 20-something MMA fights, he fought with (Robbie) Lawler. He's a tough guy. Anyone would have been knocked out by Masvidal's knee (in 2019). I think (Dillon) Danis would have been the easiest opponent by far. These MMA guys, just because they throw punches, they think they can box. That's why I'm confident in my ability to destroy them. They don't move their heads, they're slow, they don't go to the gym every day, they don't even box. We were talking to five or six guys. MMA athletes, celebrities, and NFL players, but many weren't as serious as we thought. People don't like to give me credit for my boxing ability. Askren was the only one who was serious and wanted to make it happen”, said the YouTuber, in an interview with 'ESPN'.

In November, Paul was one of the stars on the prestigious card headlined by Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. On that occasion, the influencer performed an overwhelming knockout over the former NBA dunk champion, Nate Robinson.

After the triumph and in great evidence, Jake started to challenge other stars in the fighting world. His favorite ended up being Conor McGregor, which ended up becoming the target of ironies from youtuber after the setback in UFC 257.

Confirmed as Paul's opponent for April 17, Askren has not fought professionally since October 2019, when he ended up beaten by Demian Maia. After the setback, Ben, who did not have a good time in the UFC, abandoned the sport at the age of 35.
