“They say not to make hasty decisions after a defeat, but this one is not hasty or quick. The injury I suffered to my eyes last year was career ending. In total, I lost about 40% of my vision, but I wanted to fight another tough battle. It was clear that it was my last night. It was impossible for me to compete at a high level. I can’t chase a target like I used to, and with 40% of my vision impaired, it’s chaotic to say the least,” wrote Nik, on his Twitter account. Instagram.

I leave with my head held high, God as my redeemer and my children and wife as my treasures. Fighting gave me treasures and they only took a little of my vision as payment. I would make the switch 100% of the time,” said the veteran, showing no regrets.
