“I'm training to crush you. Do it, don’t talk,” wrote Diaz, on his account on Instagram.
Recently, Ultimate's president, Dana White, admitted that he is negotiating a fight for Nate at lightweight (up to 70,3kg). In his last commitments, the 'bad boy' entered the Octagon representing the welterweight division (up to 77kg).
Nate hasn't fought professionally since his loss to Jorge masvidal, in November 2019. On that occasion, the North American faced his compatriot in the dispute for the symbolic title of 'Most Thick in MMA', in one of the most successful events of that year.
Poirier's triumph against McGregor put Dustin back as favorite to fight for the category's belt. Although he was directly challenged by Diaz, who is a promotional success in the company, Dana admitted, in the press conference after the UFC 257, which the 'Diamond' can have Michael chandler as the next rival.
The lightweight title continues with Khabib Nurmagomedov, recently retired from the sport. After this weekend's spectacle, the Russian showed no interest in returning to the sport.
