Antonio Shoe Guy entered the octagon needing recovery, but the black belt from Paraíba ended up dominated by the North American Brad Tavares. In a fight that took place in UFC 257, held this Saturday (23), in Abu Dhabi, the man from Paraíba was unable to impose his strategy and stopped at his rival's takedown defenses. After three rounds, the Brazilian ended up defeated by unanimous decision from the judges.

THE FIGHT
Shoe Face started the fight trying combinations of jabs and straight shots, while Brad Tavares I worked on low kicks to inhibit movement. The Brazilian, however, tried to attack his opponent's leg on two occasions, but was unsuccessful. On the other hand, the North American connected more hand attacks.
In the second round, anyway, Shoe Face got the takedown. But, promptly, Tavares managed to get to his feet and return to the center of the cage. Later, he connected well with the Brazilian's face, who invested in takedowns and even felt a cross from his rival. In search of a knockout, the American advanced, but landed a low blow and the fight was stopped.
Shoe Face ended up getting frustrated in the final round. Unable to achieve effectiveness in the ground fight, he continued in the clinch and tried to connect short blows. On the other hand, Tavares defended takedowns and bet on jabs to keep the Brazilian at bay. In the exchanges, the North American had the advantage in the approach and even hit the Brazilian with another direct shot. The champion of 'The Ultimate Fighter 4' continued looking for a takedown until the end of the round, but was unable to reverse the situation.

In the only women's fight on the preliminary card, Julianna Pena won and convinced. The North American, who won the 'The Ultimate Fighter 18', concluded the compatriot Sara McMann in the third round.
The fight started with McMann taking the fight to the ground after looking for her opponent's legs. In a position of advantage, she tried to continue in position. However, Peña managed to explode and get up. However, it didn't take long for her to be taken down again and she tried the guillotine, without success. In a post-fight interview, Julianna Pena took the opportunity to 'poke' the current champion of the category, Amanda nunes.
