St-Pierre gives McGregor advice for fighting Dustin Poirier at UFC 257

Georges St-Pierre spoke about the paths to victory in the fight between Conor McGregor e Dustin poirier. The duel, which takes place this Saturday (23), will be the main attraction of the UFC 257, in Abu Dhabi. In a recent publication on ‘Twitter’, the Canadian analyzed the fighters’ technical fit.

The former welterweight (up to 77,1kg) and middleweight (up to 83,9kg) champion stated that McGregor must repeat his first fight against Poirier so that he can win the confrontation.

“I believe he (McGregor) will need to start the fight with a lot of pressure, as he always does when he wins. Use all his creativity. All his kicks. (You'll need to) even talk to your opponent and try to lure Dustin into giving his jab and can use his favorite weapon, which is his left hand. This is the 'bread and butter' him, guys. He can throw very hard and is very accurate with it”, says St-Pierre.

On the other hand, GSP says that Poirier can use feints to play on his opponent's mistakes and believes that the longevity of the fight would favor the American.

“The secret of Dustin poirier for victory would be, I believe, using a lot of feints and a lot of movement to make McGregor throw (the blow) with a lot of force and miss. He has a very good guillotine. Your best chance to win, I believe, will be in the last few rounds,” he concluded.

More than six years ago, when they faced each other for the first time, Conor was superior to Dustin and ended up winning in the first round. Two fights later, in 2015, he would win the featherweight belt by defeating José Aldo, in 14s. The ‘Diamond’ surpassed Dan Hooker in one of the best fights of last season.
