Daniel Cormier said goodbye to Strikeforce in style. The organization's heavyweight champion took no notice of the Dutchman Dion Staring and beat his rival by technical knockout in the second round. With his UFC passport stamped after his triumph, Cormier promises to make some noise inside and outside the Octagon.
Despite not having his debut officially confirmed yet, Daniel announced, after his victory in Strikeforce, that his first fight in Ultimate will be against Frank mir, in an event broadcast on open TV in the United States.
“April 20th on FOX, I signed my UFC contract. Frank mir, you and I, let’s do it”, said Daniel, citing the date of the seventh edition of UFC on FOX.
Soon after, the heavyweight confirmed the rumors about his move to the light heavyweight division. Without mincing his tongue, the North American is already shooting at Jon Jones, category champion.
“I'm going to let Jon defend his belt on April 27th (against Chael Sonnen, at UFC 159) and then I’m going to kick your ass,” Cormier said.
