The anti-doping test carried out at UFC on FX 6, an event that took place on December 14th, in Australia, caused discontent among fighters caught in the test. The Brazilian Rousimar Toquinho, caught with a higher than normal testosterone level, stated that he did not know the reason for the doping and assured that he had no intention of cheating. North American Joey Beltran, caught for using nandrolone, an anabolic steroid, followed the same path.
Through his Twitter account, Beltran, who defeated Igor Pokrajac at the event, stated that he did not use any prohibited substances.
“I can say without a doubt that I did not inject nandrolone into my body. I apologize to my family and friends for the embarrassment this has caused them,” she wrote. “I promise that the whole story will be told soon and I will do whatever it takes to find the reason for this positive test”, added the fighter on the microblog.
Despite Beltran's claims, with the result of the drug test, the American's victory at UFC on FX 6 should be reversed to “no result”.
