After revealing the content of the meeting with Khabib Nurmagomedov, but without saying whether or not Russo will remain retired, Dana White only has one certainty: if the champion returns, he will not face Georges St-Pierre. At the press conference held after the UFC Fight Island 7, which took place this Saturday (160, in Abu Dhabi), the boss ruled out any possibility of a clash between the 'Eagle' and the Canadian.

“GSP (Georges St-Pierre) was never mentioned. He (Khabib) doesn't want this fight and, as far as I heard today, neither does GSP. The case is closed,” White decreed.

Although he leaves Abu Dhabi only with the certainty that Nurmagomedov will follow the UFC 257, which takes place on the 23rd, White thinks he will have an answer soon after the show headlined by McGregor. Hours before, the agent had revealed that the Russian would like next weekend's fighters to surprise him.

“He thinks (Charles) Oliveira (Do Bronx) did very well against (Tony) Ferguson. Next Saturday we will have the fight between McGregor and Poirier; also Chandler against Hooker. His words to me were: 'I'm going to watch these fights – I would never pack the division. If these guys did something spectacular, show me something spectacular, and make me want to come back”, declared Dana, in an interview with 'ESPN'.

Khabib announced his retirement from the sport in October 2020, on UFC 254. On that occasion, the athlete confirmed his decision in the octagon, after defeating Justin gaethje and unify the lightweight title (up to 70,3kg.).
