Back in the octagon after more than a year, Conor McGregor He’s not just returning to active duty physically. Close to your rematch against Dustin poirier, UFC 257, the Irishman took advantage of the promotion of the January 23rd show to poke fun at his biggest rival: Khabib Nurmagomedov. In an interview with 'TheMacLife', the 'Notorious' provoked the Russian – who retired in October – and accused him of running away from a new fight.

“Stepping away at this stage is suffocating not just for me, but for each of them. There are so many incredible fights there. Even carrying the situation with Tony (Ferguson), as if it didn't matter. You are scheduled to face a man. It doesn't matter. Fights must happen. You can’t just ignore it,” Conor said.
Defeated by Khabib in the most profitable fight in MMA history, McGregor is certain that a second meeting between him and his latest tormentor would be different. In this way, in his best style, the 'Notorious' did not spare the Russian from his provocations.
“It has been the hallmark of his approach. I wasn't surprised to see him leave or hurry, honestly. Things are as they are. We continue”, he concluded.
On the 23rd, the fight starring Conor and Poirier will mark an important clash for the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg). As Dana White has already reported, the winner of the clash will be the favorite to challenge the Russian who, despite being retired, remains the absolute champion of the group.
