Without stepping into the Octagon for over a year, Leon edwards will have to wait a little longer to put on UFC gloves in an official fight. No opponent for January 20th, after Khamzat Shimaev left the card after testing positive for Covid-19, the Englishman regretted not being paired with another opponent. In your account on Instagram, Edwards revealed that he had suggested two names, but the organization did not respond.

Ultimate's supposed refusal demonstrates its insistence that its new pupil, Khamzat, face Leon, who is currently third in the group's ranking, as soon as possible. With the new cancellation, this is the second time that the confrontation between the English and the Swede has been removed from the organization's show. The two were supposed to face each other in December, but at that time, Edwards ended up diagnosed with the new coronavirus.
With Leon and Chimaev out, the event on the 20th will now be headlined by themselves. Neil Magny e Michael chiesa. The show is confirmed to take place in Abu Dhabi, on the famous 'Fight Island'.
