“In a perfect world, if Conor wins this fight (against Poirier), I would love to see a rematch with him and Khabib. It's the biggest fight that can be made, and it's the fight that makes sense. When I fly to Fight Island, Nurmagomedov will be there too. I’m going to meet with him”, said Dana in an interview with “Shout Podcast”.

It is important to highlight that Conor and Khabib have already faced each other at UFC 229, which took place in October 2018. The fight was the most watched in the history of Ultimate and ended with the Russian submitting with a rear naked choke in the fourth round.

Currently, the Irishman is coming off a victory in less than a minute against the North American Donald Cerrone, UFC 246, on January 19, 2019. The 'Eagle' announced his retirement after defeating Justin gaethje, in October. According to him, there would be no point in continuing his career without his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who died of complications from the coronavirus last summer.

Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier

First, Conor must go through Dustin poirier. Both fighters have faced each other in the past, still in a featherweight fight (up to 65,8 kg). At the time, they were rivals and the Irishman knocked out the North American in the first round, in September 2014. Regarding the technical fit, White says he is excited for the fight.

“Poirier really wanted this fight since he was defeated by McGregor. And obviously none of these guys are the same fighters they were the first time they fought. It's a very interesting fight. Conor has been away for a while but if you look at his training now he looks really good and in great shape. Poirier too. It could be fun,” he concluded.
