Jon Jones He hasn't yet debuted in the heavyweight category, but expectations couldn't be better, at least for his coach Brandon Gibson. For the commander, the North American, the greatest light heavyweight in history and considered one of the greatest of all time in all categories, will be dominant in the new division just as he was in the light heavyweight division (up to 93.1 kg)

“Heavyweight is totally different, but Jon Jones spent much of his career training with some of the best heavyweights in the world. I've seen him do hundreds of rounds with guys like (Alistair) Overeem, (Andrei) Arlovski and Travis Browne. We've had a plethora of great heavyweights come through from Jackson's MMA ( Jon Jones) and he has been superior to everyone,” said Gibson in an interview with MMA Fighting.

Asked about Jones' main qualities, the coach highlighted that the heavyweight category may be more difficult, but his skill level will make a difference.

“Jones’ skill level is very high, his fight IQ is very high. I don't think someone with a 20 pound (approximately 9,07 kg) advantage over him will make that much of a difference. He is a very skilled martial artist. I think the weight class intrigues Jon. He is very good at knowing what his opponent is going to do, sometimes even before the opponent does,” he added.

Although there is no prediction as to when the long-awaited premiere of Jon Jones in the division. However, it is expected that the winner of the clash between 'Miocic x Ngannou', valid for the category belt, will face the former light heavyweight champion in 2021.
