Amanda Nunes confirms title defense against Megan Anderson for March

The Brazilian and Australian would face each other in December, in the fight for the women's featherweight belt; now, the confrontation headlines UFC 259

After having his second featherweight title defense (up to 65,7kg.) postponed, Amanda nunes is close to having her next fight confirmed. The Brazilian, who would face Megan anderson on December 12th, the match will be rescheduled for UFC 256, on March 6, with no location announced. The information was confirmed by the champion on her social networks.

Amanda hasn't performed since July this year, when she defended her featherweight throne for the first time. On that occasion, the athlete surpassed the former Invicta FC champion, Felicia spencer, with ease in a five-round confrontation.

Megan last fought in February this year, when the public was still allowed to attend events. The commitment was against the Brazilian Norm Dumont, who ended up defeated by knockout in the first round.

In addition to trying to maintain her hegemony in the under-65,7kg division, Nunes maintains an undefeated series of 11 clashes. The Bahian, who also holds the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg.) has not lost since September 2014, when she was defeated by Zingano cat.

Anderson has been playing for Ultimate since June 2018. Before joining the UFC, the Australian played for Invicta FC and won the featherweight belt, long before moving to the organization chaired by Dana White.
