The welterweight fighter (up to 77,1 kg), Geoff neal, will try to 'win and convince' against Stephen Thompson in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 17, this Saturday (19), to try to get closer to a title fight. To this end, he believes that a knockout over the former division challenger could guarantee him as the new challenger for the title, which belongs to the Nigerian Kamaru Usman. “Depending on what I do, if I throw a spinning back kick and knock him out, there's no denying it and I'll definitely have a shot at the title. I think that if I even have a really good fight, I'll need to win one more and then I'll have the title-shot (belt dispute). This is my plan”, said Neal last Thursday (17).

Despite your rival, Stephen Thompson, coming from a sequence of three defeats in the last five fights, the North American prefers not to belittle him and says he knows how to deal with the pressure of the fight.

“People talk about his age, he’s 37 but he’s still in his prime. (…) there is a certain pressure, but I don’t let it get to me. I just know I need to go out there and fight to the best of my ability. If it’s not enough, then I have to go back to the gym and keep working,” he concluded.

At 30, Geoff neal is considered one of the biggest promises in the welterweight category. Since arriving in Ultimate, in February 2018, he has won five consecutive victories, the last being in December of last year, when he knocked out Mike Perry No. UFC 245.
