After winning the most important fight of his career, Charles of the Bronx is closer than ever to a title shot. At the press conference after the UFC 256, held this Saturday (12), in Las Vegas (USA), the Brazilian justified why he deserves to be the next challenger for the title and based the analysis on his performance in the face of the feared Tony Ferguson.

“Everyone here knows, I won this fight. I'm the next challenger. We will wait: Conor McGregor ou Dustin poirier (who will face each other on January 23rd). This is the path to take. There are eight consecutive victories. Either I submit or I knock out. This last one, I did what I wanted in the fight. 2021 is me”, said the Brazilian.

Charles, who entered the Octagon as number seven in the rankings, proved that his recent positive record was not just luck. Against one of the most feared athletes in the group in recent years, the São Paulo native gave 'Bicho Papão' no chance and dominated his rival for 15 minutes.

After three rounds, the Brazilian was declared the winner in a unanimous decision by the judges. Next week, Do Bronx should be officially included in the group's top 5.
