Daniel Cormier signs contract with UFC and should debut against Frank Mir

The UFC heavyweight division has a new member. The North American Daniel Cormier, Strikeforce GP champion, was announced as the new athlete in the division this Friday (28).

Cormier's debut in Ultimate still doesn't have a set date, but, according to the athlete himself, it should be against the former champion Frank mir. The duel between them would be held at Strikeforce, on January 12th, but had to be canceled due to an injury suffered by Mir.

Even with Frank leaving the fight program, Daniel Cormier was kept on the Strikeforce card and will face the Dutch Dio Staring. It will be the last Strikeforce event, which ends its operations, and so the show's main fighters, like Cormier, will migrate to the UFC. The two organizations are managed by the same group, Zuffa.

PUBLICITY:

Cormier, who is undefeated in MMA with 10 victories, has important triumphs in his career, which began in 2009. In the Strikeforce GP he had to overcome the Brazilian Antonio Pezão and veteran Josh Barnett.
