After confirming the hiring of Anthony Johnson, Scott Coker is all smiles. President of Bellator, the president made it official that the former challenger for the UFC light heavyweight (up to 93kg) belt will take on his company's gloves in the coming years and did not hide his excitement at having the fighter on his squad, comparing, including the UFC group.

“I’m really excited to have him here. He's a guy who always entertains. I've never seen him have a boring fight. It's been what, two or three years since he fought? I think we will have a new one Anthony Johnson, but his fighting style is something I have always respected and enjoyed watching,” said Coker, in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'.

Without playing since 2017, Johnson, last year, confirmed his desire to return to the sport. The fighter, however, said he didn't know if he would return in the division where he had the best moments in his career (up to 93kg) or among the heavyweights (up to 120,2kg). Regarding this, Scott stated that he will not influence the fighter's decision. The 'boss' revealed that the athlete will perform in the group in which he feels most comfortable.

“I think if you look at images of him recently, they would say he would be comfortable at light heavyweight. If he wants to fight at heavyweight, I'll give him the opportunity too. At 93kg, we have good fights for him. Let’s let him decide”, he commented.

Finally, Coker, who has taken a provocative stance towards the UFC in recent months, once again poked fun at his competitor. According to Scott, with the hiring of Johnson, Bellator continues to be the best light heavyweight division in the world.

“When you hire a guy like that, with that quality, you add him to our 93kg division, it becomes the best category on the planet. For me, he will put on great fights in the division. I’m looking forward to getting him to fight,” he concluded.
