São Paulo City Hall pays R$2,5 million to sponsor UFC in the city

The City of São Paulo made official, this Friday (28), the sponsorship of the event that marks the UFC's return to the city. Now, UFC on FX 7, scheduled for January 19th, at Ginásio do Ibirapuera is renamed UFC Sao Paulo.

The announcement was attended by Gilberto Kassab, mayor of São Paulo, the municipal secretary of sport, leisure and recreation Antonio Moreno, Grace Tourinho, leader of the UFC in Brazil, and Daniel sarafian, one of the São Paulo representatives at the event. The city paid R2,5 million to get his name on the show.

“Holding this event in the city of São Paulo would not be possible without the support of the city of São Paulo. Today was just a formality, since, since confirming the gym and date, we have always had the unrestricted support of the city hall. Proof of this is the title of the event, which is named after the city”, explained Grace Tourinho.
