After losing Michelle Waterson as an opponent in UFC 257, which takes place on January 23, Amanda ribas already has a new opponent for the event. New Brazilian sensation in Ultimate, the Minas Gerais native will now have a Brazilian duel against Marina Rodriguez, who accepted the challenge and will face her compatriot on the card headlined by Conor McGregor. Considered one of the biggest Brazilian bets for a future title fight in women's flyweight (up to 56,7 kg), Ribas needed four presentations to win favor with fans and the president of Ultimate. Undefeated in the organization, the Minas Gerais native hasn't fought since July, when she overcame paige vanzant, UFC 251.

While Amanda tries to maintain the good phase of her career, Rodriguez wants to get back on track to winning ways. Without winning since August last year, the fighter comes from a draw and a defeat in her last two appearances. In July, the fighter ended up beaten by Carla esparza, in the judges' split decision.

Today, Amanda occupies the number nine position in the division ranking led by Weili Zhang. Marina comes one position above her compatriot, in 8th.

At 27 years old, Ribas currently has 11 commitments as a professional in MMA. The fighter has 10 triumphs and one setback. Marina, 33, has 12 positive results and one negative.
