Brazilian John Allan fights hard, but loses at UFC Las Vegas 16

It was not yet this time that the Brazilian John allan achieved his first victory in Ultimate. The country's only representative in UFC Las Vegas 16, held this Saturday (05), the Paraná native fought a tough battle, but ended up being overcome by the Georgian Roman Dolidze in the judges' split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28).

As a result, Allan suffered his sixth defeat as a professional in 20 appearances. The Brazilian, who made his debut in the Octagon in August 2019, had his triumph against Mike Rodriguez changed to No Contest (no result), having been caught in an anti-doping test, returned from a 12-month suspension with tonight's setback. Now, Dolidze maintains his unbeaten record in MMA with eight wins in eight fights.

The fight

The fight between the light heavyweights (up to 93.1 kg.) started out open, with both fighters looking to hit their rival. Although Dolidze walked forward, it was Allan who connected the best attacks. The Georgian managed to take down the Brazilian, but John used an armbar on two occasions and scared his rival. On the other hand, Roman tried the heel hook with danger. At the end of the partial, the European athlete still managed a knockdown, but the Paraná native recovered quickly.

In the second round, Dolidze preferred not to take any risks. After exchanging blows, the Georgian attacked with a takedown and, instead of looking for the submission, he kept the contest on the ground, striking short and adding points.

In the third round, Allan tried to make up the difference from the previous round. The Brazilian walked forward, thwarted takedown attempts and connected with good attacks. Dolidze attempted the takedown, but received a knee followed by two hand strikes and was left stunned. He insisted on taking it down, but ended up falling underneath. However, the Georgian attacked his leg and managed to get up. In the clinch, John tried to surprise and called his rival into guard with the guillotine in place. However, the European fighter released his neck and remained on top on the ground until the end of the fight.
