After following the clash between the legendary Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., held last Saturday (28), in Los Angeles (USA), UFC president, Dana White praised, but was firm in stating that he does not intend to get involved in events related to legends. At the press conference after the UFC Las Vegas 15, promoted at the same time as 'Tyson x Jones Jr.', the 'boss' was short and blunt when stating that he will not participate in organizing events.

Talking to the press, the president used all his sincerity to guarantee that he will not promote the meeting between Anderson Silva and Roy Jones. For years, both have publicly declared their desire to exchange forces in the ring. Now, outside the UFC, 'Spider' may be closer to realizing his dream, but he will have to do it without the help of his former boss.

“I’m a fight fan. And I believe that fighting is for young guys, not old guys. I know there are some names that may still have value, and that can fight and make money. But when you're a fight fan, you want to see the best in the world, the biggest revelations. I want to see these guys fight and find out who is the best in each division. That's what I want, and not promote fights between legends. That doesn't interest me. Anderson Silva he's had his time, so has Roy Jones Jr.. Today is no longer their time. The guys you saw fight today are the future, and that's who I'm interested in. I could watch them fight all night. There are a lot of people who are interested in fights between old people. I don't want to promote these fights”, said White, in an excerpt translated by 'Combate'.

While Jones Jr. made his return to boxing after more than two years of inactivity, Anderson has not acted since the end of October, when he ended up losing hard to Uriah Hall. The setback sealed his farewell to Ultimate and, days later, the Brazilian had his wish granted and was released by the organization, even with a fight left to make under his old contract.

In the fight against Tyson, Roy, 51 years old, ended up having little reflection of the fighter he once was. More shy, the athlete abused the clinch and showed less conditioning than Mike, who arrived 'more whole', even at 54 years old.

Silva, today, is 45 years old. A few weeks ago, the athlete, who had announced his retirement, went back and confirmed his desire to continue performing, regardless of his age.

Anderson Silva, you don't need to prove anything else, in the ring.
He needs to think about retiring, so that his victorious image is not tarnished by the consecutive defeats, in addition to the serious injuries he suffered.
You were spectacular, it's not worth begging.
