Deiveson Figueiredo impressed the MMA community once again by performing at flyweight (56,7kg), but his victory in UFC 255 didn't scare cody garbrandt. At the event held on Saturday (21), in Las Vegas, USA, the category champion finished Alex Perez in the first round and 'No Love' already knew the duel would be quick. Originally, he was the one who would face the Brazilian, but he had to leave the fight because he injured his biceps, tested positive for Covid-19 and regretted the wasted opportunity.

In interview with ESPN American, Garbrandt stated that the organization held this fight with the intention of increasing Deiveson's hype and, consequently, for the meeting between them, he promised to knock out the flyweight champion and even set a date.
