Hugo Wolverine shines and knocks out on the TUF 16 preliminary card

With two representatives on the preliminary card of TUF 16 Finale – the final of the UFC reality show – Brazil left the event, held on Saturday night (15), in Las Vegas, in the United States, with one victory and one defeat. The Bahian Hugo Wolverine opened the proceedings in a spectacular way. Luis Dórea's pupil took no notice of Robert Duran and knocked out the North American in the first, while the Paraná native Marcos Vina he was unable to repeat the turnaround of his debut and ended up defeated by Johny Bedford.

First Brazilian to climb into the octagon, Hugo Wolverine made his debut in the bantamweight division in style. After participating in TUF Brazil as a featherweight, he moved down a category with a show. Facing Robert Duran, the Bahian dominated the confrontation from the beginning with powerful combinations of blows, while his rival just tried to keep the duel in the clinch.

With such dominance in the duel, the knockout came in the first round. With 55 seconds remaining in the first half, Hugo managed to land two knockdowns to take down his rival and win the contest.

“I'm very happy with the knockout. It's my first time in Vegas and I trained a lot, so I'm happy that the sacrifice was worth it and now I can celebrate with my friends.”

Vina loses to Bedford
After achieving a spectacular turnaround in his first UFC fight, at UFC 147, against Wagner Galeto, the Paraná native Marcos Vina He was unable to repeat the dose this evening.

North American Johny Bedford dominated the fight from the start. With great aggression, the North American applied a beautiful combination of knees and punches and took down the Brazilian in the first round, from where he worked on top with several blows.

In the second round, Vina he landed an apparently involuntary low blow, and Bedford needed a few moments to recover. Afterwards, the American landed a straight right that knocked down Vina. He went up, landed a kick to the body and a series of punches to the Brazilian's face, who was already defenseless, until referee Kim Winslow stopped the fight after 1 minute.
