The Brazilian Wanderlei Silva is back in Japan. The Tupiniquim athlete returns to the land that made him famous at the beginning of the century for the duel that could be the last of his career. In the early hours of this Thursday (13), Ultimate announced that the former champion of the extinct Pride will face the North American Brian Stann in the main attraction at UFC on FUEL 8, an event scheduled to take place on March 2, in Saitama, in the Japan.
Wanderlei's last performance in Japan took place in September 2006, when he was knocked out by Mirko Cro Cop in the semi-final of the PRIDE heavyweight GP. In the extinct show, where “Crazy Dog” was champion of the light heavyweight category, he has accumulated a beautiful record: 22 wins, four defeats and two draws.
In addition to Wand against Stann, seven more fights were announced for the show that marks the return of Ultimate to Japan. Among the Brazilians, Cristiano Marcello and Marcelo Guimarães are confirmed. Check out the show card so far below:
