In combat sports, a phrase must always be respected: 'those who fight, don't fight'. However, two athletes seem to have forgotten the maxim last Friday (13). During an event held in Moscow (Russia), MMA veteran Sergei Kharitonov was attacked by UFC middleweight (up to 83,9kg), Adam Yandiev. According to witnesses, the confusion began after Kharitonov charged an alleged debt of US$25 (around R$134) from the Ultimate athlete. The recording was captured by security cameras.

In the images (see below), it is possible to see Sergei walking through a door with his hands in his pockets. Adam comes soon after and, suddenly, starts attacking the veteran with punches. The two then grab each other and exchange blows on the ground. After a few seconds, the fighters were separated.
With 40 professional fights in mixed martial arts, Sergei ended up getting the worst of it. With a bruised face (see below), the Russian was taken to a local hospital, where a fracture to his face was found. On his social networks, the athlete showed his face and, as a bonus, sent a message to his followers.
“For sportsmen, this is a normal condition after a fight. Fractures, concussions, cuts, etc. I never get discouraged and just move forward, confident that my biggest victories are yet to come. I'll be away for an indefinite period, but I'm sure everything will improve in less than six months and then I'll be able to return. Sportspeople, train and fight only in events. Good health to everyone”, wrote Kharitonov, in an excerpt translated by 'Combate'.
In MMA since 2000, Sergei, aged 40, has recorded 31 wins, seven losses and two unsuccessful fights in his career. Adam, 32, has 10 commitments, with nine triumphs and one setback. The fighter has one UFC appearance in 2018, when he lost to Jordan Johnson. Since then, Yandiev has not performed professionally.
