During 2020, many combat sports fans were thrilled with videos released in which Tyson appeared showing agility when practicing the gauntlet. Trained by the respected Rafael Cordeiro, Mike, even though far from the speed that shocked the world in the 80s and 90s, still managed to leave many people speechless.
After great repercussion, it didn't take long for the former world champion to make his return to the sport official. After months of speculation about opponents, it was decided that the popular Roy Jones Jr. – also victorious in boxing –, aged 51, would be the ideal opponent for the promotion.
The fight will take place at the Staples Center, in the state of California and will be monitored by the local athletic commission. The clash is expected to last eight rounds.
