The good Son returns home. It was four years away from lightweight (70,3kg) and, in that time, Rafael dos Anjos He had a good run at welterweight (77,1kg), but nothing like fighting in the category in which he experienced the best moment of his career. At the UFC Las Vegas 14, held this Saturday (14), in the USA, the Brazilian dominated Paul felder and won the fight by the judges' decision.

At the end of the fight, Rafael once again aimed for Conor McGregor, a rival he has already faced on two occasions. “I think I want to face whoever is in line for the belt. I'm 36 years old, today was my 30th appearance in the UFC. If you look at the challengers, Conor and I are the only real champions of the division, everyone else is interim. I think me against Conor would be the fight to do – he said Rafael dos Anjos in the interview after the fight”, said the Brazilian

The fight

The first round started intensely, as expected. Dos Anjos and Felder alternated blows. The Brazilian bet on traditional attacks and the North American on more plastic attacks, such as round elbows and knees. Knowing that the easiest way to victory would be a tighter fight, the Niteroi native did just that. He took Felder to the fence twice, the second time when Paul was comfortable, and managed to apply a sequence of attacks at the end.

In the second round, Dos Anjos began applying punches and kicks to Felder's waistline and took him to the cage. The North American managed to get out of position and applied a counter elbow and a beautiful follow-up to his opponent. Standing up, the former champion was getting the worst of it, even landing good shots, and ended up wobbling. The scare made Dos Anjos stick to Felder, knocking him down and controlling him against the fence. The last good blow was a straight shot from the Brazilian.

With less than a minute left, Dos Anjos didn't want to take any risks and took his opponent back to the fence. However, Felder reversed the position but did nothing. The answer came soon, when the Brazilian took down and scored by applying punches and knees in the clinch. Furthermore, Dos Anjos landed two good straight shots and confirmed his dominance with another takedown.

Despite the difficulty in accepting the fight at short notice, Felder started the fourth round well. The North American got the better of the exchanges of blows, but when the fight went to the cage, he lost the advantage he gained. In the end, he took the Brazilian down, who got up, knocked his opponent down and dealt blows to the ground. Felder's face was cut and bleeding.

In the last five minutes of the fight, Dos Anjos' situation became calmer. With the fight on the ground, the Brazilian showed his superiority in grappling and controlled Felder, who was unable to get out of position. Always glued to his opponent, the Brazilian applied knees to the body and gave Felder no chance.

Dos Anjos' important victory ends a streak of two consecutive defeats and places him in the top-10 lightweight division in his return, as Felder occupied seventh place in the rankings.

If in his UFC debut, the welterweight (77,6kg) Khaos Williams impressed by knocking him out in 27 seconds, the fighter proved that lightning can strike twice in the same place. In his second appearance, the American needed just 30 seconds to also knock out the feared striker Abdul Razak Alhassan.

There's no way to analyze it, since there wasn't even a fight. What stood out, besides the brutality of the right-wing, was Khaos' focus. Before the duel started, he was focused and with a serious face. He went into the fight with that spirit and came away with a beautiful victory. So much so that Dana White himself went to congratulate him.

On the other hand, after he got rid of the rape accusation, Alhassan was not the same fighter again. Previously, the Ghanaian had won three fights in a row. Now, at 35, he was defeated for the second time in a row and didn't make weight both times.
