Bantamweight promise reveals that fans sometimes confuse him with a former featherweight champion and explains the distinctions between the two

Under the eyes of Brazilian fans after a great performance at the UFC Las Vegas 13, Raoni barcelos is on the rise in MMA. After Dominating and Winning Khalid Taha last weekend, the public was able to learn more about the carioca who should haunt the bantamweight division (up to 61,2kg) in the coming years. Due to his imposing style, the fighter ended up being compared to José Aldo and, in an exclusive interview with the SUPER LUTAS YouTube channel, the fighter said he was honored, but pointed out the differences with the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg).

Despite some fans' confusion about their physiognomy, Barcelos also analyzed the styles between the two Brazilians. According to the Rio native, treating his compatriot with great respect, his way of fighting is not similar to that of the former featherweight champion, who, today, also performs in the bantamweight division. Raoni then gave his point of view.

“His style is totally different from mine. (…) I feel honored. If people think I have a similar style... the guy has a great career in MMA. He was champion for years, defended his title for years. I'm his fan. We are friends. If necessary, we will be together, but I am Raoni and he is the José Aldo. I’m trying to make my career now, show a little of what I know and I think everyone has their own style,” she said.
