St-Pierre asks and Nick Diaz jumps the line for the belt; Fight against Anderson postponed

The popular super fight between Anderson Silva, middleweight champion, and Georges St Pierre, owner of the welterweight belt, will have to wait a little longer. UFC president Dana White revealed that Canadian asked to face controversial Nick Diaz in his next engagement inside the octagon.

Diaz hasn't fought since UFC 143 in February, when he was defeated by Carlos Condit in the interim welterweight title fight. After the event, Nick was caught in a doping test for using marijuana and ended up suspended from competitions for a year.

As soon as I heard the news, John hendricks, listed as number one in line for the belt, protested and asked for the opportunity to fight for the title.

PUBLICITY:

“I don't know what to say, but please, Dana White, give me a chance against GSP. If you want a fight, I'll give him everything I can handle”, wrote the fighter on his Twitter account.
