The popular super fight between Georges St Pierre, owner of the UFC welterweight belt, and Anderson Silva, middleweight champion, still doesn't have a date set, but the duel gained a new chapter this Monday (26).

GSP, in an interview with Canadian radio “Tout Le Monde in Parle“, revealed that the duel should not happen soon as the UFC and the Brazilian athlete want. For St. Pierre, winning the duel against Spider would be the pinnacle of his career, but according to him he would have no future challenges.

“This fight is the icing on the cake. He wants to fight me so he can retire. I would like to fight him too, but after we fight and I beat him, what next? Nowadays there is a lot of money at stake, but I don't fight for money. My motivation is to be the best”, said the champion, who does not hide his desire to be the greatest MMA athlete of all time.

“As I said once, I want to be the Wayne Gretzky of my sport (considered the best ice hockey player in history). After I fight him, what could be greater? It will be over. So, yes, I want this fight, but for it to happen when I think it's time, and not when Anderson wants it to happen”, said St. Pierre.

“Looking in general, Anderson weighs 106kg outside of training, and I weigh 85kg. It's a big difference in weight. I've fought bigger guys – and I'm not afraid of him. The problem is that I want to do this fight when it makes sense to me. I have just returned from an injury, there is the financial issue, and there are also some fights to do in my weight category”, he concluded.
