The North American, who is seen as the next challenger for the Anderson Silva, suffered a shoulder injury during training and will not face compatriot Tim Boetsch on the show. The news was released by the Newsday website on Wednesday afternoon.

“I went for a takedown and the injury happened. My shoulder felt weird and I felt a pop. I can’t even move my arm,” she said.

With Weidman's injury, Ultimate acted quickly and already found a replacement. Constantinos Philippou, who last fought at UFC 148 in July, will be Tim Boetsch's new opponent at the event.
