An unusual situation caught attention at Bellator 249, held last Thursday (15), in Uncasville (USA). With victory in hand, Kastriot Xhema dislocated Albert Gonzales' arm twice. With the finish in place, the rival refused to give up and, after being saved by the bell, he ended up surprised by Kastriot, who chose not to continue in the duel.

The situation, which occurred at the end of the second round, ended up causing questions during the broadcast. With a tight armbar, Xhema addressed the referee, Bryan Miner, claiming that the duel should be stopped. The driver, however, allowed the confrontation to continue.
After the clock ran to zero, Kastriot shocked spectators by withdrawing from the fight, despite having an advantage. After the fight, the North American, on his social networks, justified his attitude, which ended up representing his second consecutive defeat in the organization.
“I don't regret what I did. I broke the guy's arm in a headlock. I was winning the second round 10-8. He made a sound (like breaking his arm), and the judge heard it. I told him it was broken and he ignored it. So I decreed an end to the fighting myself,” he wrote.
Xhema then explained that the situation was related to an event that occurred in her own career. In this way, the combatant chose to preserve the physical integrity of his opponent.
“In the past, this happened to me. And my rival let go of my leg and I thank him for that to this day. I'm not a piece of sh*t. I’m not here to ruin anyone’s life or career,” he concluded.
With the result, Gonzales ended up winning his first victory in Bellator. Young in the sport, with only four appearances, the athlete now has two positive and two negative results as a professional in MMA.
Kastriot, in turn, has had four defeats in the last five fights.
