the reign of Jan Blachowicz in the UFC's light heavyweight division (93kg) promises to be one of the most exciting and dynamic. There is no shortage of challenges for the new champion of the category, but what he wants most is to face an old acquaintance of hers: Jon Jones. However, the Pole is not convinced that the former number one wants the same thing.

In an interview with the North American website Submission Radio, Blachowicz provoked by saying that Jones moved up to heavyweight (120,2kg) because he was afraid of his power and cited Dominick reyes as an example, as he knocked him out and 'Bones' controversially defeated him. Confident, 'Prince of Cieszyn' assured that the clash will happen at some point.

“For me, it would be better to face Jones. We'll see what happens. We have to wait, but my first option is this. He promised me this fight when I beat Corey and I'm waiting for him. I believe that in the future, we will fight anywhere, on any day and at any time. Look what I did to Reyes! Jones moved up to heavyweight because he doesn't want to lose to me. Already understood. He is afraid of the legendary Polish power, that's why he wanted to escape by changing his category. I have the belt, but I also want to win it. He never lost. His only defeat was a disqualification and that doesn't count. I want to be the first to defeat him at light heavyweight,” said Blachowicz.

However, the champion knows that it is most likely that he will have another opponent for his first title defense.

“As the fight against Jones won't happen now, I'll face the winner of Thiago x Glover. Adesanya is another good option,” he concluded.

The story between Jan Blachowicz e Jon Jones it is old. When the American was still light heavyweight champion, he was close to having the Pole as his last opponent in the category. However, he decided to give up the belt to venture into the heavyweight division and, upon learning that Blachowicz had become number one by defeating Dominick reyes, surprised by asking his fans if they would like to see him back in his old territory.
