Defeated in UFC Fight Island 5, held last Saturday (10), in Abu Dhabi, Marlon moraes He doesn't want to rest. After the setback for Cory Sandhagen, the Brazilian used social media to thank his fans for their support and promised to return to the octagon later this year, to get back on track to winning ways.

“I will continue fighting for mine. Whoever is together, is there. Thank you everyone for the support. I’m back in December”, wrote the Brazilian.
The fight against Sandhagen represented a lot for the bantamweight category (up to 61,2kg). With two of the best athletes in the category, a victory would put one of them in a prominent position for a future title fight, which currently belongs to Petr yan.
In the confrontation, Marlon had good moments. After a busy first round, the Friborg native balanced his actions against Cory. However, in the second round, Moraes ended up being the victim of a round kick applied by his rival, which landed squarely in the head and took him to the ground. After the attack, Sandhagen needed a few more blows before the referee stopped the fight, declaring the American a knockout.
Marlon hasn't lost since the setback to Henry Cejudo, in contention for the title, which was vacant at the time. The Friburgo native had not fought since December last year, when he defeated José Aldo in Manauara's debut in the category.
After the fight, Sandhagen surprised by not asking for a title fight. The North American stated that his last tormentor, aljamain sterling deserves to challenge Yan first. Cory then suggested a confrontation against the former champion, TJ Dillashaw, or Frankie Edgar.
