The weekend promises a lot of action in the world of MMA. With the Brazilian squad in the octagon, this Saturday (10), the UFC Fight Island 5, in Abu Dhabi with Marlon moraes doing the main fight against Cory Sandhagen. In total, there will be 13 presentations, with five Brazilian representatives.

Without fighting since December, Marlon moraes returns to the octagon for a tough challenge against Cory Sandhagen. The athletes take center stage in the show with an eye on a future fight for the bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg), which today belongs to Petr yan.

The dangerous Edson Barboza will also be present at the event in the United Arab Emirates. The Friborg native makes his second appearance at featherweight (up to 65,7kg) and is looking for his first victory since his debut in the group. Former bantamweight belt challenger, Marlon moraes is one step away from a new chance to compete for the title. To do this, the number one in the ranking must go through the dangerous Cory Sandhagen.

Marlon has not played since the victory over José Aldo, UFC 245, when he welcomed Manauara to the category. After the confrontation, the Friburgo native, despite winning, ended up being overtaken by the 'People's Champion', who competed for the belt with Petr yan, in July.

Famous for the aggressiveness with which he handles his challenges, Edson Barboza arrives at UFC Fight Island 5 to have his second fight of the year. In May, the Friburgo native made his debut in the bantamweight division, but ended up losing to Dan Ige in a confrontation that had its result widely criticized.

Against the experienced Makwan, Edson needs to win to overcome a recent negative record. The Brazilian has not won a duel since December 2018 and has five defeats in the last six appearances.

Still on the main card, Markus Maluko returns after almost a year. The fighter last fought in November 2019, when he was defeated by Wellington Turman, UFC Sao Paulo.

The athlete will be responsible for trying to ruin the party. Dricus du Plessis, who makes his debut with the company. Maluko wants to win to seek stability within Ultimate. To date, the athlete has two wins and three losses with the company's gloves.
