The Brazilian Glover Teixeira made a good impression in his still short stint in the UFC. In just two fights in the organization, the light heavyweight from Minas Gerais submitted Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 146, in May, and knocked out compatriot Fábio Maldonado at UFC Rio 3, in October. With great results, even likely rivals have praised the Brazilian athlete's fighting style.

The former light heavyweight champion, Quinton Rampage Jackson, praised the Brazilian's style, who despite having his origins in jiu-jitsu always seeks to fight and end the duel before the end. The North American took the opportunity to poke fun at the controversial Chael Sonnen, which, according Rampage, ruins the sport.

PUBLICITY:

“Glover is a tough guy. I like his fighting style. He's a jiu-jitsu guy, but he also attacks. I respect fighters like him. I think MMA and UFC need fighters like that. Fighters like Chael Sonnen they're just ruining the sport, bringing the guys down. Guys like Glover can save MMA”, he said. Rampage, in an interview with the American program Inside MMA.

However, despite praising Glover, Rampage, who was scheduled to face the Brazilian at UFC Rio 3 – he was cut by an injury – stated that he wants to destroy the Brazilian in his next fight.

PUBLICITY:

“My main focus is to destroy Glover Teixeira. It's my last fight on my contract and I'm going to destroy Glover. There is no love lost with the UFC. They are a great company. They do great things for the sport, but I don’t think they do great things for me”, concluded Jackson.
