The preliminary card of UFC Fight Island 4, held this Saturday (03), in Abu Dhabi, surprised by presenting some very solid performances. In it, the former interim welterweight champion (up to 77.1 kg.) Carlos Condit rediscovered the path to victory, after four years, by defeating Court mcgee in the unanimous decision of the judges. The Brazilian Luigi Vendramini was more efficient: in the first fight on the card, the Brasilia native knocked out Jessin Ayari in the first round.

Condit makes peace with victory
Carlos Condit spent a lot of time flirting with retirement. The relationship began in 2016 and lasted until 2020. During this period, the former interim welterweight champion (77,6kg) was defeated by Robbie Lawler, Demian Maia, Neil Magny, Alex Cowboy e Michael chiesa. Basically, his future in the sport would depend on a victory over Court mcgee and the North American got what he wanted.
At 36 years old, 'The Natural Born Killer' seemed quite comfortable, even in a bad phase. Condit was superior in the first round, being better on his feet, faster, more precise and confident, something that hadn't been seen in a long time. In the final seconds, the fighter managed to land a knockdown, which broke McGee's nose, and the fight was not ended because the first five minutes came to an end.
In the second round, more of the same. Upon realizing that McGee was passive and fearful, Condit continued attacking and moving, remembering the old times. He was not bothered and maintained the advantage on the scoreboard.
In the third and final round, Condit remained hungry for the fight and didn't slow down. In turn, McGee went all or nothing, but he was attacked more than he attacked. He only scared him with a high kick, which passed close to his opponent's face. At the end of 15 minutes, there was no error in judging the fight and Condit's good performance was rewarded.
Now, the 36-year-old veteran is regaining his confidence after winning again and also his love for the sport, something that seemed to have been lost. It is worth remembering that, before facing McGee, Condit had expressed interest in having a rematch against Nick Diaz.
Vendramini fulfills promise
Two years stopped. That was the time that Luigi Vendramini he was sidelined after losing his UFC debut and also his unbeaten record in MMA. However, the Brazilian continued to believe in his recovery based on effort and talent and opened the event with a triumphant return. Despite the harsh defeat suffered by Elizeu Capoeira and the two surgeries on his right knee, Vendramini was confident and promised that he would beat Jessin Ayari in the first round. The fight, which marked his return to lightweight (70,3kg), lasted just over a minute, but there was plenty of action. In the first few seconds, the German was frightening, but as he was unable to define the confrontation, he woke up Vendramini's wild side, who went on the attack and targeted his opponent with a series of punches. Cornered and next to the fence, Ayari was in bad shape, but remained standing until he was hit by a kick to the neck. With his opponent down, Vendramini ended the fight by attacking on the ground, he was thrilled and moved by the important victory.
Despite his brief career and young age (24 years old), Vendramini is already known for having an aggressive style. This was his new victory in ten fights, all of which were via the fast track (five knockouts and four submissions). On the other hand, Ayari was defeated for the third time in a row and is unlikely to be kept in the organization.

Casey kenney He showed that he is willing to return to the top-15 in the bantamweight division (61,2kg). The North American simply ignored Heili Alateng's good form in the UFC and inflicted his first defeat in the organization by inflicting a beating. The performance was so dominant that one of the judges scored 10x8 in two rounds for the winner.
Kenney, who stands out for his good level of wrestling, has been showing progress in his stand-up fighting and that's how he won the fight. The American even rocked Alateng a few times and his kicks were decisive, so much so that they were marked on the opponent's waistline.
In the end, Kenney, former bantamweight champion at Tachi Palace and Legacy, confirmed his favoritism with flying colors, impressed by winning his second fight in a row and showed progress fight by fight. The meeting went so smoothly that it made the excited Kenney ask to fight next week.
