Since it was created, the 'BMF' belt, which rewards the UFC's toughest fighter, has divided MMA fans regarding its proposal. Some approved the idea, others disapproved. In the fight that gave rise to the term, in November 2019, Jorge masvidal took no notice of Nate diaz and knocked him out in the third round.

Upon realizing that the repercussion was great, the athletes wanted to do a rematch, which, obviously, was well received by Dana White and its holding was considered for the beginning of 2021, however Colby covington can ruin plans.

“It is quite possible that Covington and Masvidal will face each other. I don't know if the UFC has already contacted Nate, but after Covington's fight against Woodley, how could they not hold this fight? This is the fight that makes sense”, said Dana, after completing the UFC 253, held on Saturday (26), in Abu Dhabi.

Despite preferring the Covington x Masvidal fight, Dana assured that fans of the bad boys will watch the rerun of the 'BMF' belt fight in the future.

“The revenge of Nate diaz will be carried out, no matter what happens”, he concluded.

Dana White, president of the UFC, changed his mind, because the fight between the rivals Colby covington e Tyron woodley caught the attention of the MMA community and also touched on controversial issues, such as politics and racial issues. Furthermore, Covington and Masvidal, two prominent welterweight fighters (77,6kg) who were friends and training partners at American Top Team, became enemies and often attack each other heavily on social media.
