Fábio Maldonado suffered a harsh punishment in the fight against Glover Teixeira at UFC Rio 3, an event held last Saturday (13), in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. But despite being defeated by technical knockout, due to medical interruption, and having his third consecutive defeat in Ultimate, the Team Nogueira athlete will not be fired from the organization.
During the press conference, UFC president Dana White was full of praise for Maldonado for his fight and for the enormous resistance offered to Glover during the fight.
“This guy has sensational resistance, he really looks like he’s not from this planet, it was really incredible what Glover did and he didn’t fall.” Dana said. “Maldonado will not be cut at all. We would be crazy to do that”, added the top hat.
