Dominick Reyes celebrates having Jan Blachowicz as an opponent for the belt: 'It seems easier'

This Saturday (26), the North American will face Jan Blachowicz No. UFC 253, in Abu Dhabi, in the fight that will define the successor of Jon Jones. Thinking about his opponent, Reyes showed a lot of calm when talking about the fight and believes that he will have no problem beating the Pole.

“It seems easier. The overall feeling is that it's just a fight, rather than facing the 'best of all time'. And it's not my first time. Last time was my first time. I'm a veteran. I know what to expect, I know exactly how to prepare, I know what to do, I know when to heat up, I know when to stay calm. It's not about the opponent, it's your approach”, said the American, in an interview with 'Media Day'.

After Jon Jones announced his official move to the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg) and gave up his title in the up to 93kg category, leaving Ultimate to promote two athletes as challengers. Analyzing the ranking, then, the organization opted for Dominick, who was the last opponent of 'Bones' and Blachowicz, current number three. Reys then stated that the company's decision was correct in opting for the Polish product.

“He is number three and he deserved this position. Number two (Thiago Marreta) has been out for a year and has had two knee surgeries. I can't say he deserves it now, he needs to fight again. So, he (Jan) is next. He's number three. It’s a dream title fight,” he concluded.
