“For some reason, that guy wants to fight me. This is the third or fourth time Walker has challenged me. Like, shut up, because I'm going to beat your ass! I lost two fights in a row, Glover and Rakic ​​are among the best fighters in the world. There are levels of difference. I would fight him if the UFC asked me to, but I’m not going to ask for it,” said Smith.

Despite not having approved the challenge, Smith praised Walker, as he considers him an interesting fighter.

“Walker is exciting, powerful, has the perfect structure to fight at light heavyweight, but he is a little strange. I would be surprised if the UFC books this fight. I would accept it, I’m just not going to beg for it”, he concluded.

It is worth remembering that, after losing two consecutive fights at light heavyweight (93kg), Anthony Smith, a former challenger in the category, considered returning to middleweight (83,9kg). The American was defeated three times in his last four fights and his last victory was against Alexander Gustafson, in June 2019.
