It's not new that the UFC's ranking system has been criticized for some poor choices, privileging some athletes and ignoring others. The last to show dissatisfaction was Gilbert Durinho, which was surpassed by Colby covington in the top-15 of the welterweight division (77,6kg). The Brazilian, who was in first place after beating the former champion, Tyron woodley, and reached the status of challenger in the category, he didn't like losing his place to rival Covington, who went through the same Woodley, who was coming off two consecutive defeats, in the UFC Las Vegas 11.
Fearing that he would lose his status as a challenger, Durinho took to Twitter to take a stand and, once again, asked for the chance to fight for the category belt.

“They’ve got to be kidding me! I beat Woodley when he was number one in the rankings, Covington watched my fight, repeated what I did and is above me? He just beat number five, who was coming off two defeats and is soulless. Who makes this ranking? Dana White, send me the contract asap #AndNew”, posted Durinho.
U gotta be kidding me! I beat Woodley when he was N1, than Colby came watches my fight do what I did n now he ranks higher than me? He just beat the number 5 and a guy coming from 2 loses without a soul!

the concern of Gilbert Durinho It makes sense, since the UFC often values athletes who have the ability to promote fights more and, in a way, forgets merit. As Kamaru Usman e Colby covington They have already faced each other for the welterweight belt and fought an exciting battle, publicly praised by Dana White himself. Obviously, there is interest in a new meeting between them, especially with the political issues involved.
Knowing this, the Brazilian is usually present at UFC events and has been very active on social media so as not to lose his position.
