Popó wants to turn Bellator around this Friday

Considered one of the main Brazilian names in the Bellator featherweight category, Alexandre Popó returns to the event's cage this Friday (28), for the 74th edition of the show.

The fighter came from five consecutive victories in Bellator until he lost a split decision from the judges to fellow Brazilian Marlon Sandro, in a fight valid for the last GP in the category.

“From my point of view, I can’t believe I lost that fight. I never felt in trouble during that fight. But that's what happens when you leave it to the judges (to decide). What can I do? Now I'm focusing on the fight on September 28th”, said Alexandre.

Popó' will face off against American Jeff Smith and shows the path to achieving another victory for Bellator.

“I had the chance to watch it. He is a good fighter, has good striking and a basic wrestling background. He's always trying to take him down. But I don’t think he’s very evolved in Jiu-Jitsu,” Popó told MMA Junkie.
