Ultimate negotiates fight between Amanda Ribas and Carla Esparza for UFC 256

New Brazilian sensation, from Minas Gerais, has a fight against former champion and has a chance to jump up in the straw rankings

New Brazilian sensation, Amanda ribas is close to having its next commitment confirmed in Ultimate. Undefeated in the organization, the Minas Gerais native has a fight underway against Carla esparza protocols for UFC 256, which takes place on December 12th, with no defined location. The information was released by 'MMA Fighting'.

With solid performances and undisputed victories since his debut in the company, Ribas is going to his fifth appearance in Ultimate and will have the opportunity to get closer to the top 5 of the group led by Weili Zhang. If the confrontation is confirmed, the Brazilian will exchange forces against the current number seven in the category and will be facing her toughest commitment to date.

The UFC's first strawweight champion (up to 52,1kg), Esparza is trying to regain her status as title challenger. The North American's recent record proves that the athlete is focused on maintaining her good form. There are four consecutive victories. The last one, in the confrontation against the Brazilian Marina Rodriguez, in a duel that took place on July 25th.

Amanda is going to her third performance in 2020. In her last battle, in UFC 251, the Minas Gerais native excited fans with a dominant victory over the renowned paige vanzant. On that occasion, the Brazilian agreed to move up a category and beat the North American in the flyweight division (up to 56,7kg).

At 27 years old, Ribas is considered one of the UFC's biggest Brazilian prospects today. Today, the athlete has 11 appearances, with 10 triumphs and one setback.

More experienced, Carla, 32, competed in 23 fights as a professional in MMA. The fighter has 17 wins and six losses. A former Invicta FC champion, Esparza won the UFC belt in 2014, when she overcame Rose namajunas. The North American lost her position as group leader in her first defense, when she was beaten by the Polish Joanna JedrzejczykIn 2015.
